[Castor-users] Fwd: artifacts in the recontruction

Dear castor-users,
I'm trying to reconstruct GATE simulations of an octagonal small-animal
scanner used for testing. The reconstruction is performed with the
incremental Siddon projector in histogram mode, using an image-space psf. I
attach an image to show you the artefacts that are produced.

Could they be related to the absence of the normalization correction?

I have simulated with GATE a hollow cylinder to use for normalization, but
I can't understand how to provide the correction to the software.
