Use the PATH environment variable in linux to get access to all neede binaries : https://opensource.com/article/17/6/set-path-linux


root-config is a binary provided by ROOT, so if you use ROOT with GATE, then you should have it.?

It is used to provided correct links to ROOT libraries.


Same for CASToR, add the path to the bin directory into the PATH variable so that you don't have to go inside this bin directory to execute CASToR.

Hi Simon,

  I am new to CASToR. I installed it and I am trying to convert the ROOT file from GATE simulation as Castor data file and geom file for analysis. But, I am getting the following message. Could you please let me know how to launch CASToR and use the tool? I would really appreciate your help on this.

  I sent the same to the CASToR group list on Oct 3rd, 2019, but there was no response. Hence, I am sending this mail to you directly. I hope I did send it to the correct email list. - (castor-users at lists.castor-project.org<mailto:castor-users at lists.castor-project.org>).

1) cd castor_v2.1/bin
2) export CASTOR_CONFIG=/home/sowmiya/castor_v2.1/config/
3) castor_v2.1$ castor-GATERootToCastor -i ../../PET_eg_output.root -o PET_phantom -m ../../PET_CylindricalPET_System.mac -geo -s PET_phantom

castor-GATERootToCastor: command not found

So, I tried to build CASToR with export CASTOR_ROOT=1. But, I am getting the following errors:
